• ›Identity & Contact: Your name, mobile number, and email address — provided when you book an appointment, register as a pet parent, or contact us.
• ›Pet Information: Your pet's name, species, breed, date of birth, weight, vaccination history, medical records, and photographs.
• ›Medical Records: Consultation notes, prescriptions, lab reports, X-ray images, and treatment history created by our veterinary team.
• ›Payment Information: Transaction amounts and payment method (cash / card / UPI). We do not store card numbers or UPI IDs.
• ›Usage Data: Pages visited on our website, booking form submissions, and interactions with our Pet Parent Portal.
• ›Communications: WhatsApp messages, phone calls, or emails you send to us.

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

• To schedule, manage, and confirm appointments (in-clinic, grooming, daycare, video consultation).
• To provide veterinary consultations, prescriptions, vaccinations, and lab diagnostics.
• To send appointment reminders, vaccination due-date alerts, and prescription/report notifications via WhatsApp.
• To generate and deliver invoices for services rendered.
• To maintain your pet's complete medical history in our records.
• To process orders for medicines and pet-shop products, including home delivery.
• To respond to queries submitted via our website, phone, or WhatsApp.
• To improve our website and services based on aggregate usage patterns.

Under the DPDPA 2023, we process your data based on your consent (given when you book an appointment or register on our portal) and on legitimate interests (providing the veterinary services you have requested, and fulfilling legal obligations such as maintaining medical records).

We use WhatsApp Business (via the official Meta Cloud API) to send service-related messages to your registered mobile number. These messages include appointment confirmations, reminders, vaccination alerts, prescription notifications, and invoice delivery.

By registering your mobile number with us, you consent to receiving these messages. You may opt out at any time by contacting us at waggytailskelambakam@gmail.com. Opting out of WhatsApp messages will not affect your ability to receive veterinary care.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share it only in the following limited circumstances:

• With our veterinary staff and doctors who need it to provide care to your pet.
• With payment processors (for UPI / card transactions) — subject to their own privacy policies.
• With Meta Platforms, Inc. (for WhatsApp message delivery) — only message content and recipient phone number are transmitted.
• With government authorities or courts if required by law or a valid legal order.
• In the event of a merger or acquisition of our clinic — you will be notified in advance.

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide ongoing care and comply with legal requirements:

• ›Medical records: Retained for 7 years from the date of last treatment, in accordance with standard veterinary practice.
• ›Billing records: Retained for 7 years for tax and accounting compliance.
• ›Account data: Retained for as long as your Pet Parent Portal account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
• ›WhatsApp & email communications: Retained for up to 2 years.

Under the DPDPA 2023, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

• Right to access — know what personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure — request deletion of data we no longer need to retain.
• Right to grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Data Protection Officer.
• Right to nominate — nominate another person to exercise rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity.

Our website may use essential cookies required for login sessions and basic functionality. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We may use anonymised analytics data to understand how visitors use our website.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Our Pet Parent Portal uses secure, authenticated sessions. Medical records are stored on a private server hosted in India.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we treat data protection as a serious responsibility.

Our services are provided to pet owners and do not target children below the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors without parental consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
